Another Christmas over and what a lovely time was had by all!
I don’t know about you but this “in-between” bit is always my favourite, you get to blanket fort it up, watch films and box sets all day without having to feel guilty at all! Unless you have to go to work, if that is the case then I am very sorry!
Family time, seeing friends, the rest and relaxation are my favourite parts of Christmas. Getting to enjoy a break together, knowing that everyone is off and so there isn’t anything else to worry about. I think Christmas day is one of the only days that people are content with being present (and opening presents!) and enjoying the moments. It is a given that you will get the odd festive message from your close friends and family but there is a lot less contact with people, distracting peoples attention from the day. I like this about Christmas – a real break!
The food has and always will be tough for me but I have been very good this year and enjoyed the meals I have had without over indulging on the additional bits that are always available. This has made it much easier and taken the pressure off of always having to eat and drink so much. I have even enjoyed going for a nice winter run around the park in the snow! There is something quite refreshing about getting all bundled up and heading outside when the sun is out and there is frost on the ground.
I think what I am saying here is that Christmas has been lovely this year and I intend to squeeze every last drop out of the relaxing and chill time before January hits! I am using my break to get back into exercise and enjoying being away from the hustle and bustle of it all. Keeping my head in a positive space will help me so much when I start back at work and I am going to do all I can to keep it there!
